How quick has the year gone? We have been so incredibly busy all year and it just doesn't seem like the six or seven months left will be enough to get all the things we want to achieve done. It has been a productive year so far, but there is still so much to achieve.
We have a number of guide dogs that have finished training and some that have been placed. One of our guide dogs has been placed on Flinders Island and another on King Island. Over the coming weeks, we will see another dog placed in Hobart and another in the Launceston area.
We have also welcomed Dennis, who now seems firmly entrenched and appears to be enjoying the many delights that Tasmania has to offer. Among other things, he is now working hard with our new Cadet Guide Dog Trainer, Anjie, and teaching her the skills to become a qualified Guide Dog Trainer. Anjie is doing a great job and her dogs are progressing nicely in their quest to become guide dogs.
And then we have our Guide Dog Mobility Instructor, Kim. Kim moved to Hobart last year and has settled in nicely, now taking full responsibility for the working guide dogs and guide dog puppies in the Hobart region. In addition, she continues to train her guide dogs so is keeping really busy.
Well done to the team for the year so far!!!
